Gold Coast mansion that hosted Amber Heard, Elon Musk, Baz Luhrmann, Tom Hanks up for rent
A GOLD Coast mansion that hosted a string of Hollywood celebrities has hit the rental market at $7500 per week.
The celebrity digs at 3 Kootingal St, Ashmore, completed in 2009 and once a family home, has most recently been used as a holiday retreat with its elegance, grandeur and prime location making it a magnet for celebrity guests.
The property, which includes a main residences and a guesthouse, has hosted director Baz Luhrmann, actor Amber Heard and business magnate Elon Musk.
The house was also used to host events for actor Tom Hanks when he stayed on the Gold Coast last year, while filming the Elvis biopic.
Amber Heard used the property as a base during her seven-month stint filming Aquaman on the Gold Coast in 2017.
The property was listed for sale in January but this week was put on the rental market through Kollosche’s Charlotte Conroy and Melissa Baker.
The weekly rent is listed at $7500 per week but is negotiable depending if both residences are rented.
“A passion project of a local business family, South African architect Ewald de Weerd of BDA Architecture was engaged to create this unique family home sitting on more than an acre of centrally located Main River land,” the listing states.
“Set over two levels, the main residence boasts five well-appointed bedrooms, multiple living areas, a gourmet kitchen with scullery and butler’s pantry, subterranean wine cellar and library.
“The property also hosts a detached two-bedroom guesthouse, a pool house, a 25m lap pool, waterfront fire pit, ski hut, boat ramp, two jet ski docks and a 12m/39.4ft pontoon.”
According to the latest Proptrack rental report for the March quarter, the rental crisis has deepened in our capital cities, with total stock at historic lows and demand surging.
