Gold Coast Suns chairman Bob East kicks a $5.3million property goal after auctioning off his palatial Queensland mansion

A spectacular Queensland mansion owned by Gold Coast Suns chairman Bob East has gone under the hammer for a whopping $5.3million.

Located in the prestige suburb of Sorrento, on the Gold Coast, the sprawling double-storey pad features six bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Originally listed by East and his wife Susan in 2018 for $3.75million, the couple decided to renovate after it failed to find a buyer, reports The Gold Coast Bulletin.

Included in the East’s makeover were new carpets in all the bedrooms, a fresh paint job and the introduction of a media room.

The property was purchased last month by a local buyer.

Situated in the exclusive Riviera Estate, five kilometres from Surfers Paradise, the waterfront property boats a private pontoon, a tennis court and poolside BBQ area.

Other highlights on the 2,369 sqm block include an entertainment room, a manicured lawn and garden area, and a solar-heated swimming pool and spa.

The upstairs master bedroom features an ensuite with water views.

There is another luxury bedroom with its own private entry downstairs, as well as a powder room.

The home comes with a private study and ‘Hamptons-style’ kitchen, including a butler’s pantry and Falcon and ILVE appliances.

Essentials include air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout.

It comes after East, an executive in the tourism sector, took on the role of chairman for the embattled Gold Coast Suns in March.

The team entered the AFL in 2011 but have yet to make a strong impression in the league.
