‘Incredibly special and unique’ penthouse set to go under the hammer

An “unrivalled” 11th-floor penthouse at Kings Beach is poised to be auctioned after it underwent an impressive makeover.

No. 1101/4 Queen Street, dubbed The Horizon for its 360-degree views, is set to change hands in coming months.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom, three-car space property – set over 639sqm – has been exquisitely renovated during the past 18 months.

Nazer Kurz and Cade director of relationships and sales Carly Nazer said it was an apartment like no other in the region.

“It’s incredibly special. It’s unrivalled,” she said.

“There’s nothing else like it on the market on the Sunshine Coast. It’s so unique in its renovation.”

The views are particularly striking from the two-level penthouse, which is atop The Observatory building. The coastline and ocean beckon through grand windows to the east, while the Glass House Mountains cut striking figures to the west.

“You walk in and the first thing you see is the blue ocean,” Ms Nazer said.

“But you can’t help but notice the uniqueness of the materials that have been used in the floor and benchtops and feature walls.

“They have spared no expense and there is amazing attention to detail.”

The second level of the penthouse boasts an entertaining area and great views.

The apartment boasts an array of fine design and style elements.

It has a private lift, swimming pool and spa, and outdoor entertaining area and balcony.

It has travertine floor tiles and Ceaserstone throughout, 100 per cent wool carpet in the bedrooms, reclaimed timber used as a feature, black marble stone tiles in the ensuite bathroom, raised blackbutt timber flooring in the entry and kitchen and living area, and impressive stonework, featuring natural stone. Marine-grade materials have been used in the rooftop kitchen.

The auction campaign has only just started and an actual date for the auction is yet to be announced, but there has already been substantial interest in the residence.

“We’ve had quite a number of people come through the property and nearly every one of them has said it’s the most special property they’ve seen, and that they’ve never seen an apartment like it,” Ms Nazer said.

“It’s so different to anything else.”

As a result, it’s not known how much the property could be worth.

Newer but smaller apartments in the Caloundra region have been sold for more than $4m, paving the way for this one, with its expansive views, space and style, to potentially be sold for more than $4.5m or $5m.

“It will be an emotional buy,” Ms Nazer said.

“Someone will walk into the place and will just have to have it, and not allow anyone else to overtake them.”

Developed in 2005, the apartment has had three owners, with the recent renovation making it as good as new.
