Two houses, one block: Hamptons home under construction

A Hamptons-style home still under construction is one of two large family houses on one waterfront block listed for sale in Currumbin Waters.

The unique property comprises a total of eight bedrooms and six bathrooms across both residences on a 1,498sq m lot at 28 Keel Ct.

Marketing agent Renee Pannekoek said negotiations were underway with two potential buyers after the property passed in at auction.

A list price has not yet been released.

Ms Pannekoek said the vendors had almost completed the build of a two-storey contemporary home but were selling up due to undisclosed personal circumstances.

The other house on the block is an original 1980s-built five-bedroom, three-bathroom brick home.

Ms Pannekoek said the estate occupied a desirable waterfront aspect with 60m of estuary frontage providing ocean access, and also faced a bushland reserve.

“This is a goldmine block,” she said.

“The family has decided to move the property on due to unforeseen circumstances, which in regard to the second dwelling gives a buyer the opportunity to put their own finishing touches onto a beautifully built Hamptons-style home, where all the electrics and plumbing is already installed.

“There are stamped building plans available, however the buyer will need to meet council requirements and building certifications.”

The new pool

Plans show the new house would have three bedrooms, all with ensuites, but the shell in its current state is without a kitchen, bathrooms or flooring installed.

Ms Pannekoek said the original house was in “immaculate condition”, and was set over two levels with spacious living areas and wide water views, and there was also a new pool on the property.

“This property is ideal for two families looking to live side by side, or for those who want to live in one house and Airbnb the other,” the listing states.

Property records show the estate has been in the same family since the 1980s, when the land was sold for $28,900.

PropTrack data shows median house prices in Currumbin Waters were down 8.3 per cent over the past 12 months to $1.1m.
